Lightning clouds

While the sun usually shines in Talasia, occasionally there are lightning clouds in the sky. Building both cognitive processing skills and spatial memory, children must remember the order of the lightening strikes.

This task is very challenging, but also extremely effective when it comes to keeping track of spatial information and updating this constantly.

Your child sees six clouds. At the start of each task, the clouds flash twice in a row. Your child then has to decide whether the second flash of lightening came from the same cloud as the first flash of lightening or not. Gradually the number of passes between the two clouds to be compared increases.

Here is a detailed explanation of how the cloud game works:

“1” is shown

The first flash of lightening appears in the cloud with (*): W1 - W2 - W3 (*) - W4 - W5 - W6
The second flash of lightening appears in the cloud with (*): W1 - W2 (*) - W3 - W4 - W5 - W6

The right answer here would be “unequal”, because the second flash of lightening appears in cloud W2 and not in cloud W3 as with the first flash of lightening.

“2” is shown

The first flash of lightening appears in the cloud with (*): W1 - W2 - W3 (*) - W4 - W5 - W6
The second flash of lightening appears in the cloud with (*): W1 - W2 (*) - W3 - W4 - W5 - W6
The third flash of lightening appears in the cloud with (*): W1 - W2 - W3 (*) - W4 - W5 - W6

The right answer here would be “equal”, because next (3rd) flash of lightening appears in cloud W3 as with cloud 1.

“3” is shown

The first flash of lightening appears in the cloud with (*): W1 - W2 - W3 (*) - W4 - W5 - W6
The second flash of lightening appears in the cloud with (*): W1 - W2 (*) - W3 - W4 - W5 - W6
The third flash of lightening appears in the cloud with (*): W1 - W2 - W3 (*) - W4 - W5 - W6
The fourth flash of lightening appears in the cloud with (*): W1 (*) - W2 - W3 - W4 - W5 - W6

The right answer here would be “unequal”, because the fourth flash of lightening appears in cloud W1 and not in cloud W3 as with the first flash of lightening.
